Genniel M Steinmetz

Genniel M . Steinmetz, 87, of Helena, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Valley View Health Care Center. She was born June 6, 1934, in Curtice, OH the daughter of Norman and Chloe (Ames) Wells. She was a graduate of Gibsonburg High Schools and went on to teach accordion, piano, guitar and steel guitar in Fostoria and in her home. She touched many with her gift of music.

On November 7, 1959 she married James Steinmetz at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Fostoria. She was a member of Saint Mary Millersville Church, Helena Fire Auxiliary and enjoyed crafting, sewing, creating wedding florals for family. Genniel dearly loved children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Genniel also enjoyed their numerous and memorable camping trips with close friends and family, vacationing in Florida, California, and Arizona over the years.  Most recently, she looked forward to the frequent trips to Renfro Valley where they enjoyed spending time with many new friends. All her life, Genniel loved being outdoors working on the family farm. Above all, she will always be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit.

Surviving is her husband, James; children: Linda (Rod) Forcier of Tillsonburg Ontario Canada; and James (Marjorie) Jr. of Tiffin, OH; siblings Leonard of Helena, OH; Ruth Davies of Gibsonburg; grandchildren: Mary Forcier, John (Kristel) Forcier, Sarah (Adam) Kleinfelter, Anthony Steinmetz, Stephen (Hannah) Steinmetz; great-grandchildren: Jack Forcier, Brenten, Bradley, Broderick and Brandon Kleinfelter; Riley, Chloe and Elijah Steinmetz. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Rollind; brother-in-law Donald and sisters-in-law; Claryce and Marvis.

Visitation will begin at 10: 00 A.M. on Friday July 30, 2021 at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 865 SR 635, Helena, OH. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. officiated by Fr. Scott Woods.
