Gaspar "Gus" Hinojosa

Gaspar "Gus" Hinojosa, 86, passed away on September 20, 2026. He was born on September 25, 1939 in McAllen, Texas a son to Alfredo and Eva Hinojosa.

After graduating from St. Joseph Central Catholic in Fremont, Gus joined the U.S. Air Force. He served some of his time in Syracuse, NY, before serving in Germany as a Polish International Translator.

He married the love of his life Victoria Gonzalez at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Together they made their house a home filled with love, comfort and support for their family and friends.

Through the years, Gus worked at the Clyde branch of Whirlpool as a Tool and Die Cutter Grinder. He retired in 2004.

He was a member of the Fremont VFW Post 2947. Gus was a cherished member of Compassionate Ministries, where he followed his heart enjoying each opportunity he had to sing, worship and pray.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Victoria; children Elizabeth Ann (Shawn) Bradner, Allison Marie Hinojosa, Keith Phillip Hinojosa, and Nicole Marie (Brendyn) Hinojosa-Bennett; grandchildren, Raven, Jalan, Addison and Jasmin; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Adriana, Aleesia, Ayla, Arya, Karsyn, Evelyn, Connor and Kai; and brothers, Alfredo Hinojosa, Jr. and Enrique Hinojosa.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Juan J. Hinojosa.

Services honoring Gaspar's life and his legacy will be held at a later date.
