Gary Lee Jackson, 75, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 22, 2022. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on July 20, 1947, to Henry Martin Jackson Jr., and Joyce Mary (Hoffman) Jackson. Gary served active duty in Vietnam in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968. Several days after receiving an honorable discharge he started working at Moore Business Forms Inc. where he met his future wife, Antra Slayter. Gary was with Moore Business for 27 years until joining Precision Business Formats and Labels in Perrysburg as a salesman. He later bought the company with his business partner and it was renamed Precision Business Solutions. He retired in 2009. On May 23, 1987, Gary married the love of his life, Antra Slayter at Grace Lutheran Church in Fremont and they celebrated 35 years of marriage before his passing.

In his free time, Gary loved playing golf and going fishing. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Fremont Eagles Aerie 712, the Fremont Elks Lodge 169, and the former Country Club. He is best remembered for his good sense of humor and he will be sorely missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Antra Jackson of Fremont; children, Sherri (Brian) Sorg of Fremont, Tammy Jackson of Clyde, Ryan (Natalie) Steinert of Carmel, IN, Ian (Emwika) Steinert of Nashville, TN; 9 grandchildren with one on they way; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Raymond and Monte Jackson of Vickery, Randy (George) Jackson of Catawba. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, June Taylor, Georgeann McPhillips and Mark Jackson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 9:30 AM until the start of his memorial service at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State Street, Fremont, Ohio, 43420. Lay Associate Minister Maureen Pump will officiate. Burial will follow with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery in Fremont.  For those unable to attend, live-streaming of Gary’s services will be available on the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory website on his obituary page.
