Gary "Hillbilly" " PaPaw" Davis, 72, of Fremont passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born in Kentucky on September 12, 1950, Gary was a son of Betty F. (Hayden) Davis. 

For many years Gary was self-employed as a mechanic. He enjoyed fine tuning his own and other's motorcycles and vehicles. On clear days, Gary liked to take his Harley for a ride.

Surviving is his son, Gary (Jessica Creech) Hammons of Fremont; step-children, Karl Stout of Fremont and Sally Reinhart of South Carolina; grandchildren, Cody Molyet, Taylor Hammons, Lyndita Hammons, Trey Hammons, and Wyatt Creech; step-grandchildren, David Reinhart, Daron Reinhart, Payton Bowlus, and Alexas Bowlus; great-grandchildren, Alexander Molyet, Lilyana Molyet, Victoria Molyet and Jayden Taylor Hammons; and siblings, Helen Davis of Iowa and Carol Williams of Norwalk.

He is preceded in death by his mom, Betty; brothers, Lee and Ronald Davis; and partner of many years, Gladys (Hammons) King.

Visitation will be held at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 6-8 PM with a Memorial Service to follow beginning at 8 PM. with Pastors Tracy and Shirley Stacey officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family.
