Evangelist Marcus F. Herrera

Evangelist Marcus F. Herrera, 66, of Fremont left us to join his Savior and begin his everlasting life on March 6, 2023 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on April 14, 1956 in Toledo, OH to the late Marcos and Jesusa (Cruz) Herrera.

Marcus began his working career at Whirlpool in Clyde. He later went on to work for Mosser Construction for over 20 years before finding his calling to be an evangelist. Marcus was a Pastor at the Rivers of Living Water, Fremont, he took every opportunity he could, no matter his health ailments, to pray over people.

He married the love of his life, Catarina "Cathy" Castro at the former St. Casimir Parish, Fremont on October 25, 1974. Together they raised their three children, Mandy, Marcus Jr. and Melissa. Marcus instilled the importance of love and respect in his family, and he had a soft spot for his grand-babies.

Life with Marcus will be remembered as being full of adventures. He was an amazing story teller. But that could stem from his love of all superheros. He liked Barbeque, listening to oldies, and rooting for this team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Surviving is his wife Cathy; children, Mandy (Santos Torres) Herrera, Marcus Jr. Herrera (Tabatha Herrera), and Melissa (Eric) Elder all of Fremont; grandchildren, Kainnon, Alyha, Ismael, Emilio, Elias, Angel and Amara Torres, Alexia, `Xian "Zane" and Alfred Marcus III "Boy" Herrera, and Mckela, James, Gabriel and Eric "Turtle" Elder; great-grandchildren, Izzy and Brasi; and god children, Marcos and Jeremiah Herrera; and lots of nieces and nephews. His siblings include, Virginia Guerrero who is deceased her husband Andres Guerrero, Clara Paul who is deceased, Alice (Joe) Davis, Mary Papesh who is deceased her husband Steve Papesh, Molly (Louie) Rodriguez, Patsy Ortega who is deceased her husband Manual Ortega, Margie (Gabor) Seres, Lucy (Louis) Herrera, George Herrera who is Marcus' twin and his wife Paula Herra, Ricardo Herrera, Isabel (Rory) Keys, and Chris (Joe) Chapa who are deceased.
