Emma May (Cooley) Mason

Emma May (Cooley) Mason, 94, of Fremont, departed our lives to be with our eternal Father on December 17, 2020. Emma was the oldest daughter of Jeremiah M. and Dorothy Canna (Lefever) Cooley. Emma was born April 14, 1926 in Fremont, Ohio, and was a lifelong resident of Fremont, except for a brief period when she lived in Vermillion and Lorain, Ohio. In her early years she worked as a maid for S.E. Hyman and later in life worked at S.E. Hyman Corporation in Fremont. She retired from Heinz in Fremont in 1999. Emma is survived by her sons; Quentin “Denny” (Jeanne) Mason of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary Mason of Austin, TX, daughter, Holly Mason and fiancé, Russell Adams of Fremont, OH, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister, Anna Rose Tracy and brother-in-law, Kenneth Risch, both of Fremont, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by son, Jeremiah L. Mason, infant daughter, Carolyn M. Mason, grandson, Jerry Mason, brothers; Jeremiah “Jerry” Cooley, William “Tom” Cooley, Arthur “Art” E.O. Cooley, Harry Cooley, sisters; Elizabeth “Betty” Lindsey, Catherine “Kate” Laubacher, Freda Risch, Nellie Hudson and Mary Domokos.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Herman -Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431. Use of a mask is required in order to enter the building and wait times may occur outside due to social distancing. Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Clyde, OH. Pastor Matthew Wheeler will officiate. For those unable to attend the graveside service, livestreaming will be available on the funeral home’s homepage under the live webcasts tab.
