Emili Sue Egbert, 50, of Gibsonburg passed away on August 13, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 1, 1974 in Fremont to Thomas and Susan (Smith) Egbert.
Emili was a 1992 Gibsonburg High School graduate. She furthered her education by receiving her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University and earning her Masters in Education Curriculum from Wright State University.
Through the years she worked for several local companies including, Smith's Meats, the Gibsonburg Pharmacy and Terra State Community College. She was currently working for Ohio Virtual Academy teaching 8th grade math, but prior to her current employment she worked for Bradford High School and ECOT.
In her free time, Emili loved to do crafts, such as painting and creating personalized gifts. Emili was a member of the Bowling Green Skating Club Board. Her greatest passion was to watch her daughter, Cora, succeed and achieve her dreams on the ice skating rink and in life.
Left to cherish the many memories of her is her mom, Susan Egbert; daughter, Cora Egbert; aunts and uncles, Steve (Diane) Egbert of Findlay, Dave (Kathy) Egbert of Millbury, Bill (Joan) Egbert of Fremont, Mark (Susan) Egbert and Paul (Rebecca) Egbert both of Gibsonburg, Sally (Dale) Copley and Shelli (Roy) Burgoon both of Gibsonburg; nieces and nephew, Mackenzie, Noah & Grace Egbert; great-nephew, Antonio; and many cousins.
Emili is preceded in death by her dad, Thomas R. Egbert; brothers, Chad, Joshua and Jeremy; and her grandparents, Robert & Helen Egbert and Don & Katie Smith.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2-8 PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory in Gibsonburg. There will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the start of the funeral from 10-11:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at West Union Cemetery. Pastor Travis Montgomery will officiate.
Donations in Emili's name may be made to the care of Susan for Cora's education or to the Gibsonburg Educational Foundation (Jeremy and Josh Egbert Memorial Scholarship).
