EllaMarie Garland

EllaMarie Garland, of Fremont, passed away surrounded by family and was reunited with those who passed before her on her birthday Monday, July 3, 2023. Born on July 3, 1931 in Fremont, she was a daughter to the late Sherman and Deloris (Flocken) Hetrick.

On November 24, 1951 she married Charles Garland. Marie was able to devote her life to raising their 2 daughters and granddaughter. Along with spending time with her family, Marie liked to knit and spend time doing religious word searches. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are her grandchildren, Susan (Raul) Peña of Fremont and their children Mackenzie, Abagail, Haley; Stephanie Giesler of GA and her children Gretchen, Vincent; Johnathon Giesler and his children Arya, Annika, Aryanna; Lisa Fox and her children Brady, Sophia; and Stacy Giesler and her children Briannah, Thomas, Alexis and Randi; great-grandchildren: Faith, Destiny and Levi. Also surviving is her sister, Marion; and sons-in-law, John Whitaker and Michael Giesler.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles; daughters, Debora Ann Whitaker and Faye Louise Giesler; grandson, Daniel Joseph Magers; and sisters Ruth and Jan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont from 10AM-12PM with funeral services beginning at Noon. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
