It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dustin James Willey on November 19, 2025, at the age of 29. Born on January 24, 1996, in Fremont, Ohio, Dustin was a cherished son, father, brother, grandson and friend.
He worked for Miller Pipeline. He was a member of the Catholic Church and also loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In his free time, Dustin was a coach for Fremont and Tiffin flag football, soccer and baseball. Dustin was a very involved single father to a sweet 7-year-old boy named, Wrenn, whose life also came to an unexpected end the same day. The love Dustin had for his son, Wrenn, was never unnoticed. Dustin did everything he could to be the best father, which was the biggest blessing in life. Dustin gave Wrenn a life full of adventure whether it was going on trips, play dates at the park or playing every sport you could think of. They both had many wonderful times even if it was for a short time. They will both be missed greatly and never forgotten.
He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Lisa (Darr) Willey; his sister, Amity (Mike) Patrone and their son, Orion of Girard; and sister, Megan Willey and her children, Owen, Addie, Evelyn and Austin; paternal grandmother, Nancy Weltin; maternal grandparents, Carroll and Jean Darr all of Fremont, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Although too soon, he is reunited in death with his son Wrenn Willey and grandfathers, Larry Joe Weltin and Loren Elmer Willey.
A Celebration of Dustin's Life will be held on Wednesday, December 10 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Fremont VFW Hall (204 Birchard Avenue Fremont, Ohio 43420)
May his loving and playful nature be carried on through and in our lives.
In honor of Dustin's legacy, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the CITY OF FREMONT if donating with a check please write in the memo: YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP. The established funds will be to assist financially struggling families with the registration costs for children to join sports programs offered at the Fremont Rec.

The Ohio Cyclones will be officially launching the Wrenn Willey Scholarship. This scholarship will go to a senior wrestler in our club every year in Wrenn’s name so that future wrestlers can chase the dreams that Wrenn never got the chance to chase. A plaque with a picture of Wrenn will be made and hung at the facility, and the recipient’s names will be added below Wrenn’s. It will serve as a reminder to every athlete that walks through our doors of who he was and what this sport is actually about. For more information you may email questions to: cycloneswc@gmail.com.
