Douglas “Doug” Beindorf, 59, of Gibsonburg, passed away at Fremont ProMedica Memorial Hospital on May 1, 2026. He was born in Bryan, Ohio, on September 26, 1966, to Earl and Peggy (Keller) Beindorf. Doug was 1985 graduate of Birch Run High School. In June of 1985, he bravely enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in southwest Asia during Desert Shield/Storm as a Special Intelligence Communicator. He received his honorable discharge in June of 1991. Following his service in the military, Doug worked for Ameriwood for many years until his retirement. On March 14, 1986, he married Mary Duffield in Bridgeport, MI, but later divorced.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Craig (Cheyanne) Beindorf, Melanie Beindorf, both of Escanaba, MI; grandchildren, Lincoln, Sylvie, Olivia, Cecelia, Harper; siblings, Rita Okonski of Tiffin, Lane (Melinda) Beindorf of Locus Grove, VA, Jonnell Harrison of Bettsville; sister-in-law, Mary Beindorf of Tiffin.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Rhonda Beindorf, Earlene Sanders, Valerie Spire, Timothy Beindorf; brother-in-law, Chris Harrison.

There will be a private burial with military honors for his family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
