Donna G. Garner

Donna G. Garner, 91, of Fremont, passed away in the comfort of her home, with her family by her side on May 7, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1935 to the late Norman and Margaret (Heffner) Krotzer. 

She attended Gibsonburg High School, graduating in 1953. Donna also received a cosmetology certificate after graduation. 

On July 17, 1954, Donna married LaMar Garner at First English Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg. They shared over 66 years together until his passing in 2021. 

Donna and LaMar were faithful members of Grace Lutheran Church where Donna taught Sunday School and was a member of the Altar Guild for many years. She was also active with Share and Care in Fremont and served on their board of directors. Earlier in life, Donna volunteered her time as a 4H Advisor and Cub Scout Leader. 

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Peggy (John) O'Brien of Tiffin, Jan (Carolyn) Garner, Kevin (Sheryl) Garner both of Lindsey, and Lori (Robert) Finkel of Gahanna; grandchildren, Stephanie Garner, Jeremy (Abby) Garner, Josh (SheAnna) Garner, Shawna Blunt, Ashleigh Ochs, Curtis Ochs, Brittney (Chad) Bender, Zak (McKayla Swinehart) Garner, Daniel (Zena) Finkel, and Sally (Connor) Stowers; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Carson Blunt, Brianna Garner, Jayden, Jacob, and Joseph Garner, Ally and Jesse Garner, Cole and Blake Bender, Ellie, Lane, and Maeleigh Garner, Zayn and Abel Finkel, Justine (BJ) West, and Austin (Belle) Vinson; 2 great-great-granddaughters; siblings, Ronda K. Treece of Memphis, TN and Lance L. (Donna) Krotzer of Gibsonburg; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, LaMar; and parents, Norman and Margaret.Visitation for Donna will be held on Friday, May 15 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory from 3:00-7:00PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 16, beginning at 10:00AM with an hour of visitation held prior to services. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. 

Donations in Donna's name may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or to Heartland Hospice.
