Donald Lee Norman

Donald Lee Norman, 86, of Fremont passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Randall Residence of Fremont. He was born May 27, 1934 in Gibsonburg, OH the son of Merritt E. and Alice Amelia (Alspaugh) Norman. Donald was graduate of Risingsun High School. He lettered in basketball and football, and was the center for their 9-man football team.

He went on to enlist in the United States Army stationed in Paris as an ambulance driver from January 25, 1955 until December 30, 1956. On March 20, 1960 he married Brenda Carol Beigh in Fostoria, OH.

Don worked for Whirlpool Corporation as a supervisor in the paint and porcelain department. He retired after more than 40 years of service. Together with Brenda, he enjoyed numerous cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska and the Panama Canal. He also volunteered his time, hammer and craftsmanship to Habitat for Humanity.

Surviving is his wife Brenda of Fremont; daughter Jodi Norman of Williamsburg, VA; he was preceded in death by his son Mark Norman.

Funeral services will take place at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Herman-Veh Funeral Home 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, Ohio 43431. Burial will follow at Arcadia Memory Gardens, with military graveside rights. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hermanfh.com
