Donald Eugene “Rooster” Geyer, 77, of Rochester, Illinois, passed away February 20, 2026. He was born in Fremont on June 1, 1948, to the late U.S. Army veterans Gage and Jean Marion (Robinson) Geyer, who was a Registered Nurse. Donald was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School where he was a championship swimmer on the swim team. He was also a graduate of Ohio University with a Master’s degree in speech and hearing. He worked for the State of Illinois with the hearing impaired. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Black Hawks.

Per Donald's wishes, there will be no services at this time.

Left to cherish his memory are his brothers; Rick “Rooster” (Jennifer) Geyer and John Geyer, as well as his nephews: Ricky (Lucy), Reagan, Justin (Cynthia), and Jamison.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Karen Geyer; brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Geyer; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Geyer.

The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations may be made to the School of Hope in Fremont, Ohio; the Fremont Ross High School Swim and Dive team; or to the Terra Foundation for the benefit of the American Sign Language degree program.
