Donald "Biggy" Adams, 67, of Fremont, passed away with the loving care of his family by his side on Sunday, May 11, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1957 in Fremont to the late Arthur and Betty (Yontz) Adams.
Biggy attended Fremont Ross and Vanguard Vocational and joined the U.S. Army in 1975.
He and his wife Stacy had the privilege of having 5 children which were his greatest source of happiness. He had an unwavering devotion to them which was frequently reiterated by several daily phone calls to "check-in" with the kids and grandkids, resulting in manyhysterically funny "saved" voicemails.
For many years, Biggy worked for the Laborers Local 480 doing various construction jobs throughout Northwest Ohio.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and shenanigans. In his later years he enjoyed the comfort of his home, garage, and back yard swimming pool. He also enjoyed projects with his grandchildren which included an endeavor to produce the largest sunflower in his back yard garden. This goal was eventually achieved by winning first place at the Sandusky County Fair for the largest flower. He also took great pride in his grandsons playing football for Ross High School with the stadium right behind his house.
Biggy was also known to bring home unusual pets over the years. One year will always be remembered by neighbors and Ross High stadium attendees for the baby ducks that grew up in the back yard that made the swimming pool their sanctuary. He took great pride in his 1967 convertible Camaro that he purchased at the age of 16 and still owned and drove around town.
Left to cherish their many memories is his wife, Stacy; children, Meranda Chumley, Jeanna Adams, Sarah (Kevin) Barth, Andrew Adams, and Emily (Tiffany) Vandersluis all of Fremont, 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; identical twin, Ronald Adams; and brothers, Steven Adams and Michael Adams all of Ohio.
A gathering of Biggy's Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, May 25 at the Fremont VFW Post #2947, 204 Birchard Ave., from 1-4 PM to celebrate our memories and time with him. Military Honors will follow at 4 PM at the VFW.
