Constance “Connie” Wymer, 76, of Gibsonburg, passed away on June 11, 2026, surrounded by family at home. She was born on November 3, 1949, in Fremont, Ohio, to Evelyn Waitman. Connie was a 1968 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She was a hard worker and dedicated many years with Reino Linen in Gibsonburg until her retirement.
On June 21, 1980 she married James Wymer. They renewed their wedding vows on December 15, 1999. They celebrated 32 years together until his passing on July 17, 2012.
Devout in her faith, Connie was a long time and active member at Fremont Baptist Temple. She had a way of making people laugh, and had an infectious and memorable cackle to go along with it. Above all, Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family at any opportunity, creating some of the best memories with each other at family cookouts.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shonda (Mike) Butler of Clyde, Shannon Smith and Jason (Katie) Smith both of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Michael Wymer, Chelsea Esker, Kristie Jelen, Justin Young, Ashley Chesnutte, Kayle Legg, Alyssa Butler, Taya Spindle, and multiple great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Fran Mason and Leo Star.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, 319 W. Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH, 43431.
