Christine Byers

January 13, 1953 — March 12, 2023

Fremont

Christine Marie (Burke) Byers, 70, of Fremont passed away on March 12, 2023. Born January 13, 1953 to Terrance and Alice (Hoffman) Burke.

She graduated from Fremont Ross in 1972 and worked at Revere plastics in Clyde, Ohio until retiring in 2015.
She loved watching movies especially Christmas movies on Hallmark. But most of all, she was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan. She never missed watching a game on Sunday with her husband Kenny and brother Lonnie.

When it would snow and blow in Ohio, she loved flying to Florida to visit her brother and sisters where she would watch football with her brother Rick in his backyard man-land; and spend time recalling the past, time enjoying the pool, and time suntanning with her special nieces Angie and Lindsay.

Survivors include her husband Kenneth Byers; step-children Ken (Fatima) Byers, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Sheila (Chris) Potter of Green Springs, Ohio, Sherrie (Terry) Ritchie of Fremont; seven step-grandsons; brothers Lonnie Burke of Fremont, Richard "Rick" (Marcie) Burke of Safety Harbor, Florida; and sisters Sue Ann (Don) Dorsey of Fremont, Mary Kay Oney and Kathleen "Kathy" Burke Gonya of Safety Harbor, Florida.

Chris never had children, but she loved her nieces and nephews as her own: William, Angela, Christy, Jason, Tracey, Julie, Hayden, April, James, Wendi, Brody, and Lindsay, Brett, Dylan, Madison, Parker, Kaylee, Amayah, Alex, Jonathan, Eleanor, Blake, Caleb and Brink.

She is preceded in death by her parents Terrance and Alice Burke, brother James Burke, niece Tracey Burke, great nephews Dylan Wyatt and Jonathan Allen, and very special aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

Friends will be received from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM with Deacon Mel Shell officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Fremont VFW.
