Cheryle Ann (St. Bonore) DeMars, 77, of Fremont, passed away February 22, 2023. She was born on December 20, 1945, in Port Clinton, OH, to Edward Martin St. Bonore and Beryle A. (Brydon) St. Bonore. Cheryle attended Port Clinton High School. On August 15, 1961, she married the love of her life, Donald L. DeMars in Marion, VA, and they celebrated 61years of marriage before her passing. Together they owned and operated Mud Creek Bait and Tackle in Fremont for 31 years. Cheryle was also a cook in the cafeteria at Washington Elementary School.

Cheryle and Donald are members of The Church of Truth Ministries in Port Clinton. They also loved to winter in Florida for several months every year. In her free time, she could often be found fishing, playing bingo, or spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “germ”. She created many fun stories and loving memories with her family over the years and she will be sorely missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donald DeMars of Fremont; children, Jodi (Garie Jr.) Routhieaux of Lisbon, OH, Edward DeMars of Fremont, Deneen (Chris) Schwochow of Fremont; grandchildren, Kira (Darin Carter) Geesey, Garie (Laura) Routhieaux III, Rachael (Tod) Sanor, Zachary (Rachel) Schwochow, Amanda (Cory) Nichols, Taylor DeMars, Kelsey (Matthew) Hull, Michael Schwochow; great-grandchildren, Maddison Carter, Chloey Sanor, Abbi Carter, Carleigh Sanor, Hunter Hull, Elaina Routhieaux, RaeLynn Hull, Paisley Hull, Natalie Routhieaux, Ava Hull, DeClan Nichols, Emelia Schwochow; brother, George (Marjorie) St. Bonore; sister-in-law, Karen (Alan) Gerwin.

She was predeceased by her parents; son-in-law, Chris Schwochow; brother, Edward Martin St. Bonore II; brother-in-law, Alan Gerwin.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, 900 North Street, Fremont, OH, 43420. Additional visiting will be held at the funeral home Monday, February 27, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the start of her funeral services at 11:00 AM. Pastor Brian Hild will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood (Kingsway) Cemetery in Fremont.
