Cheryl D. Stein, 79 of Fremont, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, with her family by her side.
She was born on April 25, 1946 to the late Harold and Helen (Falquette) Carnicom in Fremont.
Cheryl graduated from Fremont Ross High School, and married Lawrence Stein on February 26, 1966. They shared 56 years together until his passing in 2022.
A true matriarch, Cheryl loved spending time with her family. While raising her children and grandchildren, she especially enjoyed teaching and reading to them. She was very active with the Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde. Her family will remember evenings of Texas Hold 'Em and many other fond memories.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kelly (Micah) Schumacher, Rob (Brittany) Stein, Marie (Mason) Alberts, Todd Stein, Charles (Felicia) Duffett, and Ray (Kim) Gellar; son-in-law, Curt Middleton; grandchildren, Douglas (Tisha) Coplan, Johnathan (Ruthie) Coplan, Phrederic (Jessica) Schumacher, Vaughn Schumacher, Jessica (Riley) Stang, Jasmine (Joe) Esker, Tiffany (Jon) Pitcher; Reece Bowman, Heath Alberts, and Alaina Humbert; Liam Stein and Kaylynn Stein; great-grandchildren, Matthew Coplan, Marci Middleton, Sammie Coplan, Brayden Pitcher, Dominic Coplan, Hunter Coplan, Lili Coplan, Evan Ebersole, Ellie Humbert, Brexley Pope and Declan Humbertand Sadie Jo Esker; and her sister-in-law, and best friend, Pattie Stein.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Helen; husband, Lawrence; daughters, Lisa Middleton and Deborah Stein; grandchildren, Samantha Stein and Jordon Stein; and siblings, Patricia Deluca, Roberta Duffet, Virginia Ottney, Edward Carnicom, Harold Carnicom, Marilyn Nause, Shirley Heberling, Judith Humberger, and Kenneth Carnicom.
Visitation for Cheryl will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Crematory, Fremont, with Funeral Services following, beginning at 12:00PM. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Donations in Cheryl's name may be made to Harvest Baptist Temple, Clyde.
