Cheryl J. Hakes, 67, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was born on April 29, 1958 in Fremont a daughter to the late William A. and Ruth Ann (Burns) Hakes.
After her graduation from Fremont Ross High School in 1976, Cheryl stayed in the community, later residing in Clyde.
She was not only known for her warm smile and friendly demeanor but also for her deep appreciation for nature and the simple joys of life. Cheryl was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She liked flower gardening, reading and puzzles of all kinds.
Cheryl was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Guardians, formerly the Indians, Cheryl followed her team with great enthusiasm, sharing her passion for baseball with family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, David (Diane) Hakes, Judy (Robert) Dolweck, George Hakes, Susan (Anthony) Bascone and Michael Hakes; and many nieces & nephews including greats and great-greats.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Hakes.
In honoring Cheryl's wishes, there will be no services at this time. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Those wishing to send a memorial are encouraged to donate to St. Joseph Catholic Church in honor of Cheryl.
