Gibsonburg- Charles H. Damschroder, 71, passed away on Jan. 2, 2019 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born on April 20, 1947 in Fremont to Charles A. & Florence (Ottney) Damschroder.
Charles was a 1965 Gibsonburg High School graduate. He served our country, being drafted during Vietnam. On Oct. 10, 1967, he married Dolores E. Rewaldt. Charles went on to work for Chrysler Corporation in shipping and receiving until his retirement in 2001.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 17 and the VFW Post 9255.
Surviving are children, Machelle (Bob) Jividen of Gibsonburg, Brian Damschroder of Bradner, Dion (Heather) Damschroder of Fostoria, and Shawn (Rhonda) Damschroder of Gibsonburg; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Dawn Burns and Mary Torok both of Gibsonburg.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores who passed on May 24, 2004; daughter, Candy Damschroder; granddaughters, Elizabeth & Tara Damschroder; brother, Guy Damschroder.
Friends and family will be welcomed to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Sunday, Jan. 6 from 2-7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. where there will be an additional hour of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Blair Miller will officiate, and burial will follow at West Union Cemetery where military honors will be provided in his honor.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 17.
