Andrew Widmer

November 28, 2000 — June 30, 2024

Andrew E. Widmer, 23, of Gibsonburg passed away tragically on June 30, 2024. He was born on November 28, 2000 in Oregon, OH to Craig and Gale (Bloom) Widmer.

As a 2019 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Andrew furthered his education at Terra State Community College where he received his certificate in HVAC. He used his talents, starting his career at Bayside Comfort Inc. and then at M&M Heating and Cooling LLC. In the fall of 2022 he ventured off to become a co-owner of Black Swamp Heating & Cooling.

Andrew will be remembered for his kind and reliable nature that made him an awesome dad. Countless times Andrew would willingly step in to help those he saw in need, often making and selling t-shirts for fundraisers. It came naturally for him to to be very sociable from telling jokes to being the life of the party.

Andrew liked fishing and rooting for his favorite teams the Browns, Buckeyes and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Left to cherish his memory are his children Danny and Kensley; his girlfriend Justine Cronin of Gibsonburg (mother of Danny), Camryn (Root) Frey (mother of Kensley), his parents, Craig & Gale Widmer of Gibsonburg; siblings, Leann Widmer of Gibsonburg and Meghan (Danielle) Widmer of Cleveland; maternal grandmother, Virginia O'Laughlin of Gibsonburg; maternal step-grandmother, Diane Bloom of South Carolina; and paternal step-grandfather, John Cook of Woodville.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harvey (Chris) Bloom; maternal step-grandfather, Jack O'Laughlin; paternal grandparents, Patricia Cook and Donald (Linda) Widmer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 8th from 2-8 PM at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg. There will be an additional hour of visitation on Tuesday, July 9th from 10-11 AM at the funeral home with Andrew's funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Pastor Alan Brown will officiate and burial will follow at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
