Alan Bennett

Alan "Al" Bennett, 75, of Fremont passed away on August 30, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1951 in Fremont a son to Robert and Fredalene (Payden) Bennett.

Alan graduated form Clyde High School in 1969, and he furthered his education at Spring Arbor University earning his bachelors degree. During the time of the Vietnam War, Alan served in the National Guards.

He made his career in Human Resources Administration for the Department of Veterans Services after many years, retiring in 2011.

In his free time, Alan volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and was a referee for OHSAA Basketball. He was such an avid Cavs and Cleveland Browns fan, that everyone knew activities at home would be adjusted according to the game schedules.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, whom he married on February 3, 1979, Vikki Lindsay; children, Shane (Bryan) McCracken of Bowling Green, OH and Colin Bennett of North Ridgeville, OH; grandchildren, Gavin McCracken, Hayden McCracken, Addison Bennett, and Abigail Bennett; and his beloved golden retriever, Mo.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, LaMar Bennett.

There will be no formal services at this time, but all are encouraged to take time to be in the silence and beauty of nature.
