Teresa R Garza

Teresa R. Garza, 82, of Fremont, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Elmwood at the Springs, in Green Springs, OH. She was born on August 15, 1927 in Alice, TX to Lucino and Gregoria (Salinas) Rameriz. She married Santos Ruiz and they later divorced. In 1951 she married Inez Garza in Texas and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2001. Teresa worked as a cook at the Fremont Hotel, Hongs in Fremont and at Frischs Big Boy, retiring from Providence Hospital in 1986. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Teresa loved to play bingo, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and spending time with her close friends, Maile Peterson and Elena Vengas.

Surviving are children, Magdalena Maggie (Roel) Cantu, San Juanita Janie (Mike Pitts) Martin, both of Fremont and Santos (Pru) Ruiz Jr. of Alice, TX, adopted daughter, Connie (Richard) Claypool of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; sister, Damcia Castillo of Edingburg, TX and stepsister, Conselo Cruiel of TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Reyna, sister, Maria Canales and grandson, Tony Martin.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 14th from 3-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice in Teresas memory.
