Henry Q. T. Hines

Henry Q. T. Hines (Papa), 90, of Moore St., Fremont died Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born in Weavers, AL to the late Eula (Glover) and John L. Hines. His grandparents, the late Lucy & Henry Glover raised him. He married Emma Lee Carter on July 6th, 1956. She died on August 11, 1990. Mr. Hines attended school in AL. He was employed by the Fremont Foundry for 42 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #1915 and former officer of the Fremont Chapter of N.A.A.C.P. He attended Greater St. James C.O.G.I.C., was a member of the local Negro Baseball League, was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians Baseball Team, attending many games in his earlier years. He leaves to cherish his memory 2 sons, Marvin (Delores) Hines and Derrick (Anita) Hines of Fremont; six daughters, Dorothy, Patsy, Wili Maude Carter, Josephine Carter-Fant, and Henri Diane Martin all of Fremont and Lilli "Trish" Carter of Toledo; sixteen grandchildren, Blaine, Denise, Shelly and Christian Hines, Kim Spann, Robert, Dia, Taylor and Zachary Carter, Shanda Lowery, Jamel and Jabbar Fant, Emily and Jennifer Martin and Megan and Aaron Hines; twelve great grandchildren, Stacey, Justin, Brandon and Samantha Hines, Darien and Taylor Sapnn, Jeffery and Alexis Barnett, Jurnee Jenkins, and Joell and Alexus Fant; special granddaughter, Lakishia Williams; and family friend Bessie Rucker; three sisters in law, Mrs. Allena Lee of Fremont, Mrs. Junie B. Freeman of Lawton, OK and Mrs. Lucie Lee of Columbus, AL; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends. His prents, grandparents, 2 sisters and 1 daughter precede him in death. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
