Vernell "Vern" O. Mehlow

Vernell O. "Vern" Mehlow, 83, of Fremont, died Saturday afternoon at St. Francis Health Care Centre in Green Springs. He was born in Ottawa County to Oliver and Alma (Suhrbier) Mehlow. Vern graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1939. On Feb. 14, 1943, he married Ada Myers and she survives. Also surviving are sons, Al (Kathy) and Dean (Ruth); sister-in-law, Beatrice Mehlow; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Vern is preceded by his parents and brother, Lyle. Visitation was held on Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services were held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
