Norma Mae Ross

Norma Mae Ross, 84, of Fremont died Thursday morning at her daughters home. She was born in Jackson Township near Fremont on Oct. 15, 1920 to Wilmer and Mayme (Hoffman) Timmons. She graduated from Jackson Burgoon High School in 1940 and Bliss Business School in Columbus. She married Ivan Ike Ross on Feb. 2, 1946. He died July 22, 2001. Norma worked at the Proving Grounds at Erie Ordinance, the Fremont A & P Grocery and Peter Eckrich for 10 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Norma enjoyed baking and cooking and loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are children, David (Val) Ross, Mary Jo (Ed) Blody, Neal (Theresa) Ross and Loriann (Mike) Wood, all of Fremont; sisters, Beatrice Parker of Findlay, Virginia Behnke of Oak Harbor, Rosalyn McCawley of Oregon and Nancy Phillips of Clyde; brother John Timmons of Catawba Cliffs; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Norma is preceded by her parents, husband; brothers Homer, Robert Bud and Donald Sonny and sisters Betty Gardner-Moran and Marian Heppner. Visitation: Private Graveside services: 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Home Health and Hospice or Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont.
