Robert E. Sanford

Robert E. Sanford, Sr., 85 of Fremont died late Friday evening at Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont. He was born on June 16, 1919 in Bucyrus to Henry & Gladys (Shertron) Sanford. Robert graduated from Bucyrus High School and was a US Army Veteran Master Sgt., and trainer pre-WWII and also during. On July 1, 1943 he married Martha (maiden name) in Sandusky, and she died in 1983. Robert worked for Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. for over 30 years in the Sandusky Co. area. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Surviving are sons; Robert E. Jr. & William M. (Deborah) Sanford all of Fremont, grandchildren; Braden T. Sanford of Bellevue, and Bethaney Wojdyla of Fremont, great-grandchildren; Karson and Katelyn of Fremont. Robert is also survived by a sister; Mavel Rindfuss of Bucyrus. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister; June Sanford. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday January 18, 2005 at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Avers officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are being handled with the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
