FREMONT: Dudley F. "Fred" Singer II, 63, of Fremont, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
He was born to Dudley F. and Imelda (Spriggs) Singer in Port Clinton, OH on November 4, 1946. Fred was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School, and he was also a Tiffin University graduate of Accounting. On June 2, 1972 he married Stephanie Zeigler at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Fred started and was currently running his own business, D. Frederick & Associates, Fremont.
Fred was very active in Fremont serving several years as Mayor. He was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge, the Fremont Elks, the K of C, and the Fremont Federal Credit Union Board. Fred loved golfing and traveling to Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie; son, Dudley F. Singer III of Fremont; sister, Yvonne (Dan) Heidl of St. James, MN; and mother-in-law, Peggy Zeigler of Fremont. Fred is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont beginning at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Tad Oxley will officiate. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Burial will follow the services at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont.
