Joan M Smith

Joan M. Smith, 58, of S. Taft Ave., Fremont, died early Sunday afternoon at Providence Hospital in Sandusky. Miss Smith was born in Sandusky on Sept. 18, 1941 to Norbert G. and Evelyn C. (Behnken) Smith. She was a 1959 graduate of Ross High School in Fremont and was among the first graduating class at the new school. Miss Smith loved animals and always had pets. She was employed in the claims office of an insurance company in the Washington, D.C. area for many years until illness forced her to retire in 1984. She is survived by her brother, Brian C. Smith; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles. She was preceded by her parents; brother, Lamar; and sister, Myra Ruth Smith. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
