James E. Hotz

James E. Hotz, 75, passed away on Mon., Dec. 21, 2015 surrounded by his family at his Fremont residence. Born on Aug. 10, 1940 in Fremont to Richard & Mary (Halter) Hotz.

James was a Fremont Ross High School graduate. After graduating, he served our country in the Army from 1958-1961. During his career he worked for Warner's Mechanical as a pipe fitter, and had retired in 1991. James was also the Co-Founder and Sr. Vice President of First Choice Property Management.

James was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont. He was a past member of the Moose and a current member of the American Legion. James loved fishing and helping everyone; especially projects at the lake.

James married Rosanna Dayringer in Sept. 1961 at St. Ann's Catholic Community; she survives him. Also surviving are children, Richard Hotz of Oak Harbor, Mark (Anita) Hotz, Dennis (Tricia) Hotz of Fremont, and Troy (Kathy) Hotz of Port Clinton; grandchildren, Natasha (Jeff) Ash, Nicholas (Ashleigh) Hotz, Mike (Rhonda) Hotz, Tyler (Meghan) Hotz, Heather (Spencer) Kirby, Ally Hotz (Miguel), Bradley (Abby) Hotz, Noah Hotz, Hannah Hotz, Sebastian Hotz, and Hunter Hotz; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Scott Hotz (Oct. 20, 2003); and sisters, Marilyn Wurzel & Barbara Hodeschell.

Visitation will begin at 11 A.M. on Sat., Dec. 26 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont; where Memorial Services will be held at 2 P.M. Deacon Alfredo Diaz will officiate. Military Honors will be performed by the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
