Mark Alan Hemminger

March 5, 1957 — May 4, 2017

Mark Alan Hemminger aka “Mad Dog”, 60 of Gibsonburg passed away at his home surrounded by his family early Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born on March 5, 1957 in Bowling Green to Albert and Sally (Waltermier) Hemminger.

Mark was a 1976 Gibsonburg High School graduate. He worked Maintenance for Martin Marietta for 39 years. On June 16, 1986, he married Lesa Hutton. Mark was a member of the NRA and the Sandusky County Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed camping, riding his Harley, hunting, and spending time with his animals: Chopper, Flake and Piggy.

In addition to his wife, Lesa, surviving are his children, Shawnda (Jeremy) Schmeltz of Woodville, Joshua (Anastasia) Hemminger of Gibsonburg, Jessica (Anthony Asher) Hemminger of Northwood and Jacob Hemminger of Gibsonburg; grandchildren Bethany, Chantel, Brent, Kaila, Damien, Shylee, and Evangeline; 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Gary Hemminger of Helena, Beth (Richard) Sabo of Helena and Mary Hathaway of Wayne.

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Matthew Hemminger, and twin grandsons, Patrick and Groot Hemminger.

There will be a Celebration of Mark’s Life where friends and family will be welcomed to the Cactus Flats Campgrounds at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg.
