Monica Saldana Raby

Monica (Saldana) Raby, 38, of Fremont passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 12, 1979 in Wauseon, OH to Avelardo Saldana and Rita Gonzales. Monica graduated Fremont Ross and Vanguard Vocation Schools.  She went on to obtain a medical nursing certificate.  Until recently, she worked for the U.S. Post Office as a clerk in the Fremont, Toledo and Pemberville offices and formerly at Whirlpool in Clyde.

Monica enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. Every year she would get passes to take them to Cedar Point on the weekends. Monica enjoyed watching her favorite football teams, the Michigan Wolverines and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She had a love for coffee, her cell phone, shopping, dancing and watching movies on Lifetime. She also had a strong love for The Lord.

Surviving are her children: Janell, Sean and Eric Mekhi Raby; and their father, Eric Raby of Fremont; her mother, Rita (Juan) Gonzales Castillo of Fremont; father, Avelardo Saldana of TX; fiancé, Paul Keys and his children, Xzavior, Javier, Paul, Jr. and Ahlexoni of Fremont; siblings, Maricruz (Jamieson) Reynolds of Fremont and Eliseo Saldana of FL; grandparents, Raul (Alicia) Gonzales and  Bill (Cruz) Hooten all of Fremont; Monica’s second family, Henri Diane Martin of Fremont, Jennifer Martin and Emily (Martin) Smith; God Parents, Mary Fernandez and Joe Velez; and a host aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Monica loved the colors red and pink.  In her memory, you are encouraged to wear these colors during her services.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 3, 2-4 & 6-7:30 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont where a Celebration of Her Life will begin at 7:30. Pastors Thad & Patty Lee will officiate.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, Nov. 4, 10 a.m., at St. Ann Catholic Community where A Time of Quiet Reflection will begin at 9:30.  Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clyde.
