Robert "Bob" F. Taulker

Gibsonburg: Robert “Bob” F. Taulker, 90, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born on November 13, 1927 in Washington Twp. to Amos and Lauretta (Hagemeyer) Taulker.

Bob was a 1945 Gibsonburg High School graduate. He married, Thelma Faye Schlea on Nov. 20, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg. They were married for over 64 years until her passing in June 2012. As a devoted husband and father, they raised their family. He worked for several community companies starting as a farmer at the Specht Family Dairy Farm then at Lin-Mor Farmers Elevator and finally, at Gordon Lumber, Lindsey.

Bob enjoyed watching sports, especially his favorite teams the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines. Not only did he like to watch, he liked to participate in baseball or softball where he positioned himself as a shortstop. Bob had a passion for baking cookies that he gifted to family and friends. His grandchildren, especially, looked forward to Grandpa’s cookies. Another favorite activity was spending time in the woods, cutting firewood.

Surviving are children, Steven (Pam) Taulker, Kay Taulker and Terri (Tom Geisbuhler) Ahle all of Gibsonburg; grandchildren Resa (Chris) Hastings, Stacey (Rob) Hoy, Marcus (Sammi) Ahle, Jenny (Brian) McCord and Sarah (Todd) Haydock; great-grandchildren, Noah & Brynna Hastings, Cameron & Parker Hoy, Addison & Jacob Ahle, Brynlee & Kenzley McCord, Tyson & Tanner Haydock; and brother, James Taulker of Gibsonburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; and sister, Donna Crispen.

Family and friends are welcomed to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. where his body will lie in state one hour prior to the services at the church. Pastor Blair Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
