Zulema DeLaSerda

Zulema “Sue” DeLaSerda, 85, of Woodville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.  She was born on October 6, 1932 in Dolores, TX, to Reyes & Sophia (Zamora) Flores.

Sue worked at Fremont Memorial Hospital as a ward clerk for 39 years until her retirement in 1993. Sue welcomed anyone who came to her door, regardless of the time of day, ready to serve. She enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. Sue was an amazing hostess and party planner. She loved spending time with her family and making memories with her grandchildren.

Sue married Ricardo “Dick” DeLaSerda Sr. on August 20, 1955 in Laredo, TX and shared 59 wonderful years together until his passing in November of 2014. Together, they raised their children, Ricardo (Jennifer) Jr. of Worthington, OH, and David (Carolyn) of Fremont. Also surviving Sue are grandchildren, Cristina, Carlos, Stephanie (Corey Wise), Nicholas and Antonio; step-grandchildren, Zachary and Gregory; great-grandson, Benicio; and sister, Paz Vieyra.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ricardo Sr.; and siblings, Reyes Flores, Jr., Jesusa Perez, Santiago Flores, Roberto Flores and Alfredo Flores.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 5, 2018, beginning at 11 a.m. where there will be an additional hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Oscar Collazo will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Garden, Clyde.
